What is a Free or Charitable Clinic?

A clinic with a charitable mission to provide healthcare services to members of their community. Collectively known as “safety net” clinics, they are free, charitable, and hybrid clinics, and ECHO staff can help you identify your specific type.

What Types of Clinics Does ECHO Launch?

ECHO launches nonprofit community based clinics that offer free or highly-subsidized healthcare services in low-income communities where a high number of residents may be uninsured or underinsured. Volunteers and paid health care professionals create partnerships with various healthcare providers, hospitals, and community officials to provide quality care where it is most needed by members of the community.

How Do Our Clinics Make A Difference?

Clinics launched with ECHO consultation are committed to:

  • Providing quality health care services, utilizing commonly accepted practice protocols
  • Delivering services in a clean and well-organized space using the most up-to-date equipment that resources or donations will permit
  • Facilitating access to prescription medications through prescribing generic drugs, utilizing drug companies’ medication assistance programs, and voucher programs
