Harry Smith has spent 62 years working, beginning at the age of nine with an afternoon newspaper delivery route that he continued and expanded until he completed college. Harry is now retired from Schilling Enterprises, where he was co-owner, Chairman, and CEO Between 1980 and 2005, Harry managed as many as 1,000 employees at Schilling (revenue base of $100 million), which operated automobile dealerships, real estate holdings, trucking firms, HVAC services, and auto parts distribution. Harry also served as Chairman of Circle “Y” Saddles, Inc., 2003-2009, and is currently active with HNB Partners (d/b/a Schilling Farms), a 448-acre planned business development in Collierville, Tennessee.
Harry earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of North Alabama, and he earned his CPA following that.
Throughout his lifetime, Harry has been involved with numerous professional and civic organizations, past and current religious affiliations and services and was inducted into membership in the Society of Entrepreneurs in 2004. He also serves as a Board Member with the Regional Medical Center and with the Urban Youth Initiative.
Harry and his wife, Beth, have one adult daughter and three grandchildren. In his leisure time, he enjoys church activities, golf, and travel.
