The uptick in the uninsured rate

By Josh Roberts

For the first time since 2014 (read: Implementation of Affordable Care Act), the rate of uninsured Americans has increased. Not surprisingly, the increase is driven by states that have not yet expanded Medicaid.

We spend more on healthcare than any other nation because of out of control prices on basically everything from OTC drugs to doctor’s time. Making sure people have access to useful health insurance won’t change that, but it will give everyone a chance to take good care of their bodies.

I hope our country can soon find itself headed in the right direction regarding healthcare. Many of the issues that prevent access are self inflicted. I hope we can change that.

Being relatively new to charitable health, I often ask more experienced team members for their insight on pressing issues. In this video, John Mills shares his thoughts about the recent increase in the uninsured rate, the first since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
